In Echuca, Victoria, is a park through which the Campaspe river flows towards its confluence with the Murray. Over many years, time has changed the river’s course and eroded the banks. The trees’ exposed root systems and twisted trunks bear witness to this. On the day this painting was done, the temperature was 32° and determination was needed to control the oil paint running on my palette!
