Born in Geelong, Bill commenced his art training at the age of nine, by correspondence. He later studied advertising art at the Gordon Institute of Technology in Geelong and RMIT, and enjoyed a successful career in graphic design before turning to painting full time.
Bill works in oil, watercolour and pastel. His work is represented in England, USA, Greece and Japan, as well as throughout Australia.
He has lived and worked extensively in France and Greece. He currently teaches oil painting at the Peninsula Arts Society.
